Genome 1 Intelligence
This chapter talks about the gene of intelligence. He conducted experiments on certain IQ tests with separated twins and discovered that they are inheritable to personality and intelligence. He had also conducted an experiment on high IQ children and discovered a difference on the gene IGF2R. Ridley also says that the genes make show more expression later on in lifetime. He also said that intelligence genes do not work in a vacuum and that environmental stimulation is needed for them to function. Genes can also be expressed more aggressively in different environments which relates to natural selection in how one adapts to the environment thus expressing genes that are more likely to succeed and reproduce. There was no relevance in whether or not adopted children in the experiment and the children with very high IQ scores corresponded.
