genome 5 prevention

In this chapter, Ridley talks about certain diseases that had no cure at all but at this time do. He thinks it is our moral to prevent those diseases from happening and find a cure when information about the disease is available. He then later on talks about the genetic tests of patients for incurable disease and uses alzheimers as a example. He states that alzheimers is not as fatal as other diseases and that individuals can live a long life without realizing the symptoms of the disaese. He suggests that genetic test should be performed by doctors but emphasizes not to leak out information about your genetic code.
