photosynthesis is a process where light is turned into chemical energy. The reactants are h2o and co2 + sunlight and the products are o2 and glucouse. This process is very important because all of life depends on this process.
cellular respiration is a process that occurs in cells or in their membranes that allows them to obtain energy. Catabolic reactions are involved with this process and energy is released by a process called oxidation. Most animals use cellular respiration to take in oxygen from the plants and produce atp. The reactants are o2 and product is atp and co2.
They are similar because they both convert energy. cellular respiration converts o2 into atp and co2 whilst photosynthesis transforms light, h2o and co2 into oxygen and glucose. plants use photosynthesis in order to create o2 for animals to perform cellular respiration releasing co2. Then the cycle continues. chemiosmosis play a large role in both the processes. They are basically the same reactions however, are in reversed.
